I Swear I'll Melt If You Touch Me At All . . .

But Then I'll Ask You To Do It Again And Again. . .

The Life Of The Average

Another day, another person.
They sweep through your mind in a whirlwind of frustration.
"Hello, Sam", "Hey, Kate".
Manners, rules, everything you wish to hate.

The expected and the unsurprising.
Nothing out of the ordinary, same old, same old.
Useless facts from books and school.
Like dipping your toes in a poisonous pool.

Elizabeth, Juliet, Emma and friends.
All those heroines whom you've never met.
Their graceful manners swamped with pride.
Their thieving brothers, sneaky and snide.

All these books, all these films.
Never tell the truth, only their fancys.
Fantasy witheld, secrets revealed.
The entire story is mixed, unnoticed and congealed.

The confusing elements undecided.
For which the confused never wonder upon.
Expressions of amazement, faces of sadness.
All within these are moments of madness.

Out of this madness comes focus and sensibility.
The idiots walk as the clever ones talk.
The girls watch the boys as they go by.
Showing off as the girls ask why.

And through this curtain of time and forever.
There holds a place hearts can renew.
Beating only to let you exist.
To give you life - the life you missed.
